We're arriving at Narita Airport on June 27th around
4:30 are there any buses that would take us to Kashima city? I know we could take the train through Tokyo, but it looks like it would be quicker by bus. Thanks.

No, there seems to be no direct bus. But it can be reached relatively easily by train: take a train from the airport to Narita Station and then a different train to Kashimajingu. You can look up schedules by entering "naritaairport" and "kashimajingu" into the following website:
