Planning to buy sake wine as gift for friends can i put them in my luggage for check in,we'l visit gekkeikan sake brewery store,is it advisable to buy there or at 100yen store

Check this thread for sake sets http://www.japan-guide.com/forum/quereadisplay.html?0+6...Sake itself, as in the bottles of wine, will HAVE to go in checked luggage in order to satisfy the liquids carry on rule: BUT you can get lovely Sake (we did) at the airport Duty Free: then you CAN carry it on, as this is after the security check etc and is like any Duty Free purchase.

This depends on your country. As for sake you should spend a bit of money and get something nicer than 100 yen. See the following website to learn more about sake. http://www.esake.com/For the sake set the 100 yen store can be OK. I have purchased many things at 100 yen shops.
