Is this correct?

I'm writing an email to someone from a Japanese company who helped me with some research I had to do when I was there. He even took pictures and sent them to me. So now I want to thank him and let him know that the pictures arrived safely.

This is what I got so far:

先日無事に写真が届きました。わざわざ (my country) まで送って下さってどうもありがとうございました！
論文は順調に進んでいます。

Is this text ok grammatically and in terms of politeness? And is it enough or should I add something else? I already wrote a letter to him before to thank him for his help, so this email is really only about the fotos.

It is pretty good.

I am not a native Japanese speaker so I will not comment about how good your Japanese is but I think the person will understand it. I also think they will appreciate that you took the time to write in Japanese. Even if there are mistakes I think this will show them that you are trying and not just asking a Japanese friend to do it for you.
