Is it possible to make a trip to Hakone in one day from Tokyo?
If I decide to stay one night in Hakone( in October ) can I find a hostel or ryokan by arriving there and in what part is recommanded to stay?

Ryokan should be booked in advance. It is not common to just show up at the entrance, although, at some easy-going places you could probably be successful. Others will refuse you categorically because it is uncommon. It is particularly not recommended on Friday and Saturday nights, when Hakone gets very busy.

In Hakone, I think that the choice of the individual ryokan is more important than the choice of the area. I find the area between Yumoto and Gora and around Lake Ashi particularly nice.
