I intend to travel to F uji area around 6-7.10.09
1.are there buses to the 5th station around this time?
2.I intend to leave Tokyo in the morning for one day.Can I do in one day the 5th station and travel in the lake district in one day or is it better to spend there 2 days?

Yes, but only to Kawaguchiko 5th Station.

The bus trip from Tokyo to Kawaguchiko takes less than 2 hours. To the 5th Station about 3 hours. It is possible as a one day trip.
