interest rates on savings account 2009/5/25 17:08
Hi,
Does anyone else have the AYUMI account? (Shikoku Bank). I had understood it was a "savings account" but after 3 years, it has earned absolutely zero interest despite having a modest sum in it.
Hope someone can help!
Thanks
Alex

Well, all I can say to that is Welcome to Japan :) You should have known about Japanese interest rates before saving and expecting to see healthy returns.

very low interest 2009/5/26 21:15
Japanese savings accounts typically have 0.1% interest or less on them. I would be lucky if I had seen 30 yen in interest total in all the years I've been in Japan.
