Travel to Kyotanabe

Hello! I have looked everywhere I can think of to try and find a way to travel from Kyoto station south to Kyotanabe. It's a smaller city so I might have to take a bus, but I would prefer a train. Does anyone know of a way to get there?

The central stations of the city is JR Kyotanabe station and Kintetsu Shintanabe station(8 mins apart on foot). The town centre is located between these 2 statioins.
