6 months language course in Tokyo 2009/6/7 21:37
Hi, my friend & I are planning to take up a 6 months Japanese language course in Japan next year. We are going to be in Tokyo in August this summer, and will make a visit to a couple of Japanese language school within Tokyo.

Does anyone have any recommendation on this? Appreciate if anyone can advise on this.

Here's a link to some schools but I don't know how good they are.

This site gives you the list of accredited language schools. I don't have personal recommendations (the ones I know might not have 6-month courses...) but if you click on the "ENGLISH" button in the upper left corner, then look under "Information about Japanese language schools," "finding with zone/local area," you can select "Tokyo" and look around for schools in Tokyo. There are many :)

6 months course 2009/6/15 16:38
So there isn't any 6 months course available? We cannot afford the time & cost for a 1 year course, and 3 months is too short. Sigh...

Schools normally have 1.5 or 2 year-course as preparatory courses for those who want to enroll in Japanese universities, but for example, this one has 3 months semesters. If you can find the level that suits you, you can take two semesters I suppose.

By the way, this one is a school I can recommend - at least I know two people (personally) who attended this course and now are pretty good with the language :)

Thanks AK-san! My friend & I are currently at the intermediate level (with JLPT 3), and wishes to attain a JLPT 2 level after the 6months course.

Will take a look at the website! =)

Arigatou!
