There's many translators on the web. Search "Japanese Name Translator". Just know that the translations may vary as there isn't always on e way to convert a name to katakana. Here's one to get you started: http://www.kanjizone.com/Also they probably won't have Gault which I would write as ガルト in katakana.

Yes, "kazoku" is the general word for "family."
Note, though, that if you are thinking of writing something like: "the Smith family," with the family name, then it would be different. It would be "Smith ikka" ("the Smiths").
Just a note because I don't know what you are trying to do with the word :)

me agian lol i would like to have the symbols for faith love and honesty for the final part of this. this is what i have 信 faith 愛 love 誠 honesty
i am placing the love in the middle, faith and honesty will be on either side of love so i guess what im asking is their a certain way that these three symbols have to be placed or does it really matter the order

If you want single kanji for each word, yes, those carry the following meanings: 信 faith, trust, believe 愛 love 誠 honesty, sincerity
You have to place them "separately," that's all :)
In case of the word "family," the two kanji (what you are calling "symbols" form ONE word, so there is a set order of course.
But those three are three separate kanji, each of which carries that meaning but together don't form a word, so you need to spread them apart.
May I ask what you are trying to do with all those words, kanji, and names?

i am creating a sorta crest of my family in japanese. so the faith love and trust at the toppp then the list of names in order of your translations then at the bottom is where i am putting the family symbol lol looks good on the comp so far but i guess i will have to see. im also looking for something to sorta border the whole thing but keeping in japanese theme of course. i was looking at dragons but its been done so much.
if you have any suggestions let me know i figure the whole thing will be about 3 feet in height.
