Where to find old posters in tokyo? 2009/6/23 10:54
Hello, does anyone know where I might find old theater posters or prints from the 1960 and 1970 to look at or buy here in Tokyo?
thanks

I saw a guy selling some old posters at the Togo shrine flea market last year.

TRIO 2009/6/25 10:12
There is an old theatre/concert/idol memorabilia chain in the Tokyo area called "TRIO". There is a shop in the Nakano Broadway building for certain and I have come across a few others scattered around the city. While the memorabilia is limited to what has been sold back to them, they do have some dating back as far as 1950.

Nakano Broadway may be a good place to find other items in antique shops and kitsch shops throughout. Animation posters and magazines from as far back at the 1940s are ocaisionally available in the Mandarake chain stores there as well.

Nakano skews old.

I recommend you "Eikichi Shoten"(means Movie Crazy Bookstore).
