nara vs dattara? 2009/7/3 17:32
Hi. I'd just like to know the difference between the two, however subtle it is. And a few examples would be great. Thanks as usual. =D

dattara sounds a little bit serious, and nara is generally used in talking.
For example,
You love Tokyo Giants, then you hate Hanshin Tigers, don't you?
This 'then' is similar to 'nara'.
ジャイアンツがすきなら、タイガースはきらいですね?

Do you love Tokyo Giants? In that case,
our friendship will be lost forever.
This is simiar to 'dattara'.
ジャイアンツがすきですか?だったらわたしたちのゆうじょうは、おしまいです。

There is not a much differene between the two. Thank you.
