To all Hokkaido / Noboribetsu verterans (maybe Uji-san???):
does anyone know of a place in Noboribetsu where it is possible to use a FREE outside / nature onsen? I am talking about a small pond, lake, river or whatever.
Also, is it possible not to use only the regular paths at Hell's Valley there - meaning, can you go your own way or do you have to stay on the assigned paths?
Will be off for my 2nd Hokkaido motorcycle touring in a week - trip report will follow some time in August!

Hi Kulachan, There is hot spring stream in Hell's Valley, but I doubt if there is free Retenburo ? However, if you are passing by Lake Kussharo , you may enjoy free Rotenburo in the area with beautiful lake view. http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e6803.html
