September Public Holidays

We willbe travelling through Japan through the September 21-23 public holidays. We will be travelling from Kyoto to Hiroshima, Fukuoka etc. Since this makes a 5 day holiday with the weekend before, can anyone advise what travelling is likely to be like during this period? I would be very grateful for any help.

It will be one of the busiest times for traveling during the year. Especially on September 19 and 23, you can expect trains along the major routes to be very crowded.

Tokyo in September

Would a better option be going to Tokyo from September 18, and then travlling to Hiroshima and Fukuoka from September 23? Thanks so much for your help.
