When does the JR Pass expire?

Hey guys, sorry if you get this question all the time....
Basically how does the 7 day JR pass work? Is it valid from the hour you activate it or the day? Because at the moment i'm planning on activating the pass at around 1pm on the 6th of September so i can catch my "final" train at around 8am on the 12th of September. Will that work? Cheers!

You are correct!
The PASS starts on the day you activate regardless the hour.
If you activate on the 6/9, your 7day pass is valid until the 12/9 .
12/9 is your last day to use the pass.
