12 full days in japan? 2009/7/17 05:37
Hi,

For our honeymoon my fiance and I have decided to visit Japan.

As neither of us have everbeen we would like some advice with regards to internary.

Our flight is on the 18/10 at 9pm with a 2 hour stop in Seoul so we will get to Tokyo at roughly 7:30pm on the 19/10.

We intend to spend 4/5 days in Tokyo and do some exploring of city and surrounding areas (day trips)

We then plan to use a JR rail pass to travel to Kyoto and spend 4/5 days there.

From Kyoto we are then planning to go to Miyajima for day and night then see Hiroshima before traveling back to Tokyo (for the night) via our JR pass before flying out at 9:00am on the 31/10.

This sound OK?

How many days do you recommend for Tokyo and Kyoto?

Any advice welcome

Thanks

Tom

It sounds good to me. I think it is good for the average traveler to split his/her time half half for Tokyo and Kyoto.

However, for people who are more interested in modern Japan than traditional Japan, it might be good to reduce time in Kyoto in favor for Tokyo, or the other way around for a person more fond of traditional than modern Japan.

Hello.

I really recommend to use the following service!!!

They are volunteer guide and very helpful. I had one of them last year and it was a best moment in Tokyo.
