Apartment no reikin, shikin etc. Nagoya 2009/7/28 10:19
Hi everyone. I am searching for an apartment inside Nagoya where I can move in basically paying only the 1 month rent. Is it feasible?

With all the costs associated with renting an apartment I doubt it you will find one where you only pay one month worth of rent upfront.

Ignore the Tokyo part, it does provide good explanation into the costs.

The best thing would be to know someone and make an agreement with the landlord directly. This isn't likely to occur though, especially for a foreigner.

There will always be more than just one month's rent, such as a deposit. But the total amount is relatively low if you use a short-term rental service like Leopalace:

Oh I think I mis-read your question.
Here is another option for short term lease:

Sumaino Ichiban is about as foreigner friendly as you will get in Nagoya and that's not saying much. I moved into an apartment with my wife for agent fee (1 month) and 1 month rent. No key money or other deposits but we didn't have a guarantor so that could cost roughly 40,000 yen and then some cleaning fees and the like so it was roughly about 230,000 yen.
