I will be in Japan in October 2009 and intend to do a day trip to Mt Fuji from Shinjuku on a weekday but it seems no buses run. Have i missed any bus info or will i have to go by train- could someone give me the timetabling too? There are 5 of use, 2 adults & 3 kids, we will have JR pass too.

thank you but i have looked at that website and it says buses only run from Shinjuku to 5th station on the weekends and public holidays. Does that mean if i go on the weekday, say Wed, i will have to train it there? Have i read the timetable correctly?

No, you don't need to take a train. Direct buses from Shinjuku to the 5th Station run only on weekends, but the buses between Kawaguchiko Station and the 5th Station run everyday.

Kawaguchiko Station can be reached by either bus or train as explained below:
