Hokkaido best place in October

I'm planning to go Hokkaido in early Ocotber. where woudl be the best place to see the red leaves? how to go? Can someone please give me some idea

For southeastern Hokkaido it is a little bit early, while for higher elevations it can be a little bit late. But everywhere else in Hokkaid, you are likely to see autumn colors in early October.
