Tokyo - Yokohama 2009/9/1 16:17
Can anyone help on this?

I know I can take the train from Ikebukuro to Shibuya, then transfer to the Toyoko MinatoMirai Line Exp to Yokohama.

So do I purchase the below mentioned one day ticket at Yokohama station itself?

http://www.jreast.co.jp/e/pass/yokohama_minatomirai.htm...

Or can I purchase it earlier, so that I can use it for the Shibuya - Yokohama journey?

If so, where do I purchase the tickets? Any JR ticket reservation outlets?

Thanks!

As explained on the official page, the ticket can be purchased from ticket vending machines at JR stations between Yokohama and Shin-Sugita in the free area.

The Shibuya-Yokohama section (Toyoko Line) is not covered by the ticket. Only the Minato Mirai Line section (Yokohama to Motomachi-Chukagai) is covered.

As mentioned, Shibuya-Yokohama on the Tokyu Toyoko Line is NOT JR, so that pass is not valid on it.

However, depending on where you want to go, TOKYU offer's it's own Yokohama Pass:

It costs 840yen (special discount) from Tokyu Shibuya Station:

http://www.tokyu.co.jp/railway/railway_global/english/o...

This saves you about 180 yen, vs going to Yokohama then buying the JR version of the pass.

However it just depends on where in Yokohama you want to travel.

Where in Yokohama do you plan to travel?

The Minatomirai area of Yokohama is very much walkable.
