Hello,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I notice the Hyperdia site only gives options for trains. There are no options for subways, or are there?

If not, is there a website similar to Hyperdia? I want to estimate the fare and see if its worth getting the "Tokyo Free Kippu".

Million thanks! :)

Subways are trains running underground and are included in Hyperdia.

I suppose it's not so easy to recover 1,580 yen for a Tokyo Free Kippu on one calendar day, unless you take buses or streetcars. When you don't, regular cost may surpass 1,580 yen if you tour Tokyo from morning to night moving for a bit long distance repeatedly or getting on and off here and there.

Hyperdia includes both Toei and Tokyo Metro subways. You will know that by searching for routes between Ichigaya and Nihombashi.

Some non-subway lines (e.g. Sobu Rapid and Yokosuka) have a segment under the ground, while some subway lines (e.g. Tokyo Metro Tozai and Marunouchi) have a segment on the ground.

If you are not familiar with transportation in Tokyo, then I don't recommend your fully relying on routing tools like Hyperdia and Jorudan for this purpose. Their results are only conceivable ones, not always convenient or recommendatory ones.

You can check fares within Toei subway / Tokyo Metro subway with a fare checker.
A transfer between Toei and Tokyo Metro makes 70 yen discount for one ride.

- Tokyo subway fare checkers:
: You can designate stations by clicking station codes. If the two station boxes are correctly filled, then click the button on their right to search for routes and fares.

- - Tokyo Metro Lines

: In results, fares are indicated in red. You can tell a line by a circle indicated in its symbol color. Clicking the button to the right of a station name in Japanese, you can open the station's page and know its name in alphabets and its station codes.
