Visiting Japan with Baby 2009/9/3 14:23
I am visiting Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka in Nov 2009. Contemplating to take my baby, who will then be 6 months old, along. I am not sure if this is a good idea. Are the cities "baby friendly" (i.e. Will I have easy access to baby facilities, such as baby room)?

Very Friendly 2009/9/3 16:58
Yes, on the whole I've found Japan to be very baby friendly, especially in the bigger towns and cities. Most big department stores have baby rooms where you can feed and change the child. Often malls, etc. also have these facilities, or at least a pull down changing bench in the disabled persons restroom. Even the shinkansen train has a special multi-purpose room that can be used for nursing or changing a baby -- ask the conductor for access.
