When someone's relative is sick, what is the appropriate expression to use in Japanese to convey sympathy? eg. "I am sorry to know that your mother is sick. i hope she will get better soon."

お母様がご病気と伺いました。早く回復されますよう、お祈り垂オ上げます。 [Okaasama] ga gobyouki to ukagaimashita. Hayaku kaifuku saremasuyou, o-inori moushiagemasu.
(I have heard that [your mother] is ill. I sincerely hope that she will recover soon.)
In quite polite speech, since I don't know how close you are to the one you will be writing this to.
