It all depends on what kind of shopping you want to do. For example...

Ginza: For the most pricey and traditional
Akihabra: For anime, manga and electric appliances
Shibuya: For teens fashion

Same goes for department store. What's your preference and age range and what do you want to buy?

Akihabara also has cameras, computers, gadgets.

- Ochanomizu between west exit and Yasakuni Dori. Musical instruments
- Ueno. Ameyoko market. Sells fish, food, clothes, shoes, watches, golf clubs, cosmetics, bags, etc.
- Asakusa. Souvenirs, food, clothes, pottery, fabrics, Japanese Obi.
- Harajuku/Omotesando. "Tweens" clothes in Takashita Street, name brands clothes in Meiji Dori.
- Shinjuku. Department stores, camera shops, just about anything.
- Odaiba. Shopping Malls, outlet stores.
- Kamata. Hobbies(just about anything), fabrics, etc.
