dental appointments

my friend in Kawasaki says she goes to the dentist every Saturday for about a year now! She has four bridges she says they work on adjustments, etc. said that is the way they do it to make money. this sounds crazy. Is this a regular practice in Japan??

That's not too unusual in Japan. Basically, (unlike other medical doctors in Japan) dentists seem to prefer multiple short visits rather than three or four long visits unless you make a personal request saying you want to end it quick. But that was also the case in the U.S. when I used to visit an American dentist for my braces way back in the 70s. Btw, your friend is free to go to other dentists for second opinions.
