Request locations near Tokyo

On your application for JET your allowed to request a location even though it's not guaranteed you'll be sent there.

What are some locations I could request to be close to Tokyo?

I think the closest location to Tokyo is 2-3 hours away while the farthest is over a day away.

I read in a couple other posts someone recommended Gunma because the community is nice there and it's one of the locations that is only 2-3 hours away from Tokyo. Yet when I googled mapped the directions, it went from saying it's 2-3 hours away to 7-8 hours away. I screen capped the changes below.

Maybe I missed something or maybe google maps just isn't the best place to look. Can someone name another website?

Anyway - I just want to know your views and opinions on locations near Tokyo.

I love the countryside, but I also love the city. So I'd like to request a location where I can at least make a day trip to Tokyo every once in a while.

During daytime, it takes 2 1/2 hours by commuter rapid train, and 1 1/2 hours by shinkansen(bullet train) from Maebashi(prefectural capital) to JR Tokyo station.

Yokohama and Kawasaki are quite close.
