Japanese/English Food Dictionary? 2009/10/31 02:33
Hi, I'm trying to practice my Japanese, and I'm constantly at Japanese restaurants, but I can't understand the menus! I try to write down what I read, so I know what it means for next time, but then I can't find the dishes in any online dictionaries. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a good dictionary that has Japanese/English dish/food translations?

At the moment, I'm trying to find out what おきゅと and もろきゅう are (I think the last one is some kind of cucumber dish?)

もろきゅう is cucumber ("きゅうり") with "もろみみそ," a kind of miso bean paste on it.

I have no idea what おきゅと is, though.

Hi, thanks for your answers, I'm going to have to try the おきゅうと/おきゅと next time!

Does anyone know of a glossary or a dictionary that I could look things up for next time?
