Hi Japan friends ;-) many years ago I was for business in Japan... and we where celebrating the 55 aniverseray of the Company.. and I dont remember why.. this date in Lifetime of Japanese people is so important? and as I will celebrate this aniverseray tomomorrow.. I was wondering.. if anybody could tell me.. the reason.. ;-) that for your instruction.. I would love to know..

Birthdays and company's anniversaries are two completely different things. 55th birthdays are not specifically important. On the other hand, companies and schools try to find every excuse to remind their members about the foundation of the origanization. A celebration once every 5 years sounds normal to me, and I don't think that it's particularly unique to Japan. Look at the examples;
