Driving to High-School? 2010/1/17 10:12
For those high-school students in Japan who are 18 and above and with a license, is it common or rare for them to drive to school?

Students driving to school is rather unheard of, especially since virtually all schools forbid students from getting their licenses while they are students.

In the cities, even parents are encouraged to avoid driving to school for PTA events as there are only a few spaces for parking. For students, motorbikes are also prohibited for the sake of their safety and also because they're considered to be unnecessary. In many schools in the cities, even bicycles are either prohibited or require application.
