British marrying Japanese fiancee 2010/1/23 22:14
Hi guys

I've decided to finally propose to my gf of 5 years. She is currently in Japan while I've moved back to the UK. I wanted to ask the steps I would have to take to comply with both Japanese and British law. We plan to apply for the Spouse Visa so she can live in the UK and am flexible about registering the official marriage in Japan or the UK. Has any British citizen here married a Japanese person and settled in the UK? If so please outline what I would need to do!

Many thanks

Rob

There is one similar thread here - I think that the Fiance Visa does not apply anymore - I believe the procedure now is something like "entry clearance" for marriage registration, if she is coming to the UK to get married.
