Little translation help

Hi!
I'd need a little help with translation of one phrase. ついつい誘ってみたくなる Does it mean that the person who's saying it wants to invite someone for something? Or does it mean that the speaker wants to be invited?

The person who is saying it wants to invite someone.

If I take apart 誘ってみたくなる,

誘う = to invite
誘いたい = want to invite (someone)
誘ってみたい = want to try inviting (someone) [though I don't know if she/he says yes]
誘ってみたくなる = it makes me feel like I want to try inviting (someone)

It's likely that this "sasou" means not just invite, but something like asking a girl on a date, or something like that, though I of course don't know the context :)

ついつい・・・ is an adverb that adds the sense of "I can't help but do (something)," kind of meaning.

I get an urge to invite ....
