Is 3D TV shows available in Japan now?

Hi, The tech news site slashdot says that Japanese will start 3D service soon. And soon there will be 3D TV set sold in Japan. http://slashdot.org/submission/1170610/Panasonic-Full-HD-3D-TV-and-Blu-ray-3D-recorderHowever, some one told me that there are already 3D programmings available in Japan now, being shown everyday. Is that true? If true, what kind of TV shows are they? How do you watch the programs? What channels are they on? Do you need special TV, special glasses? Thank you all.
