Music teacher in Japan? 2010/2/18 13:06
If I can read and speak japanese fluently and have a bachleor degree course in music education would many japanese high schools want me? I want to teach music at a highschool but I'm not sure if they would find it necessary to have a music teacher from Australia, even if they do speak Japanese fluneltly.

To teach at high schools in Japan, you'll need lisence. (教育職員免許).

It might be impossible to get a work visa if you're not married to a Japanese national. It is easy to find a job as an English teacher in Japan as that is a niche few Japanese can fill, but I don't think that there is a lack of music teachers in Japan as several of Japanese friends of friends have studied music in Japan and have never managed to find a job in teaching music.
