Yen to Euro/GBP (pounds) exchange rates 2010/2/27 19:16
I want to buy GBP (UK pounds) and Euros, cash, while the exchange rates for both those currencies are in my favor.

I usually buy with my bank, UFJ, but recently see their exchange rates are quite 'out' compared with what general Internet exchange rates show (and I appreciate Internet are not so accurate).

Example: to buy Euros is around 120 yen (Internet), 125 UFJ (about right).

But, GBPounds are 135 (Internet), 148(!) UFJ (definitely not right).

My question: Is there a way - online or otherwise - to check actual exchange rates for a range of Japan banks so I can get the best deal (and see if UFJ are over the top with their GBP, for some reason)?

Check the websites of the major banks. They should have info on their rates.

It's my experience that the only currencies that are anywhere close the the actual exchange rate are USD & EUR. All other currencies are way off, some of them WAY, WAY off.

My general rule of thumb is not to exchange in Japan unless it's USD or EUR.
