Rainy season in Okinawa

Hello,

Just how much does it rain in Okinawa during May-June? Does it rain every single day? I've done quite a bit of research on this, so I'm wondering if anyone has any personal experiences they can share.

I went to Ishigaki island in the very southern part of Okinawa late May last year. We flew through some cloud while landing, and were told at the airport by locals that it had poured with rain the previous day. For some reason though it did not rain once in the 5 days we were there- we hardly even saw a cloud, so I can say for sure that it does not rain every day there in the rainy season. Relatively few other tourists so very peaceful as well.
