How are they different?

What is the difference between:

1) どう読むんですか
2) どう読めばいいですか?

something like

how is it read?

how should it be read?

Isn't there any semantic difference?

The differences in nuances are something like:

どう読むんですか would be something you'd ask if you saw a very unusual town/city name and you ask your companion wonderingly "How is this supposed to be read?" (a plain question).

どう読んだらいいですか would be something, for example, you'd ask if you get to be an MC, so you need to call out people by their names, but someone's name is written with kanji that you don't know/complicated. So you'd ask "How should I read it?" "How should it be read?" in a tone asking for instruction/help.

So, the first sentence is more of asking out of curiosity whereas the second sentence is asking for help, right?
