Can I work on Spouse Visa? 2010/6/25 22:22
I am an american citizen and my wife is a japanese citizen. When i got out of the military we came to usa, we are now thinking of returning to japan and i'm wondering if i'll be able to just get a spouse visa to go back and live there? and does this allow me to work in japan or is that a separate visa?

You should be able to get the Spouse visa.

And, Spouse visa allows you to work anywhere.

It'd actually be better to get that visa than a regular working visa. Because regular working visas have separate categories. Like Instructor, Engineer, etc. And to change to a different job in the different field, you would have to change the working visa category as well.
