Good exchange student programs? 2010/7/21 15:49
Hi everyone! I'm from California and I have been studying Japanese for 4 years. Currently, i'm 16 and i'm going to turn 17 this fall. So, I'm planning to apply as an exchange student to a high school in Japan for 2 to 3 months in the summer. Can anyone recommend a good exchange student program? I've read that AYUSA's program treats their customers horribly. Also, I want to take a friend with me who wants to also be an exchange student in the summer. Is it possible for her to be housed in the same host family? She is fluent in Japanese and she's also a Japanese-American. Is it possible for her to apply as well? Or do you have to be someone who is not Japanese?

Thanks so much for reading!

Well, you could do a summer program will YFU or AFS Or you could do LanguBridge

http://www.langubridge.org/

They had 7 week programs in tokyo and you get $75 dollars for bringing a friend :D

Hope this helps!
