Metal, screamo, hardcore 2010/8/5 23:50
I know there is already a long thread about music posted, but personally I don't feel like fishing through 8 pages to find my answer, sorry?

Are there any metal, screamo, death metal, nintendocore bands in Japan?

I guess I'll list bands I like so you'll have a better understanding of what I think is good.

As I Lay Dying
Attack Attack!
Asking Alexandria
August Burns Red
Betraying The Martyrs (Band from France, Youtube them)
Between The Buried and Me
Children of Bodom
Crimson Armada
Bring Me the Horizon
Devil Wears Prada
Emery
Haste The Day
He is Legend
I set my Friends on Fire
Miss May I
Oceano
Sky Eats Airplane
Underneath the Gun
We Came as Romans
Winds of Plague

I know this list is long, but this is the best way for you to understand what I think is good music.
I guess throw in some techno, trance too. I love that too.

hxcx and death metal 2010/8/10 15:51
I don't know about the hardcore scene right now in Japan, but when I was there (around 1998) there were hardcore gigs everyday and everywhere.
So although I don't know the hardcore scene I can tell you a few bands I heard back in the late 90's: Nunchaku, Minor League, Yamarashi, Numb and Pulling Teeth.
I don't know if they are still alive (at least Nunchaku is dead and some members formed Kamomekamome)
About death metal/deathcore, I know a lot of bands, but most of them are old school death metal (in the Autopsy or swedish vein). You should take a look at my post here:

So I really like Her Name In Blood and Crossfaith.
Cesarcold, Thanks for the list, all was good, just to old school for me. Ill say it, I'm not a huge fan of just metal riffs and shreds ( even though yes I play guitar and bass. ) Although I did Like Death I am. I guess I like more variety in the songs.
I love metal, just I want the songs to change up, a lot like Between the Buried and me does.

HNIB reminds me a lot of August burns Red.
and I loved crossfaith's blue. I loved the electronica mix. anything else from both of you is welcome.
