Hi there, i browsed a bit through this forum and see there are some pretty knowledgeable people here:)
I'll explain a bit of my situation here: I'm a 20yo student and i'll most likely be starting the education for oriental languages and cultures japanese on bachelor lvl in a year from now. After graduation i'd like to start working in japan as fast as possible as a translator or something of the sort, but i'm not sure if this is possible / smart ( have a gf living there so that's why). I'm from the netherlands and fluently speak enlish and ofc dutch and already understand quite a bit of japanese ( according to my girlfriend lol ).
I'd basically appreciate any advise, hints and tips or self-experiences on the subject. ( preferable applyable to okinawa but ok if elsewhere in japan.)
Thanks in advance,
Jason

Join US army! You can enjoy the sportive job & enjoy free buffet everyday!
actually, okinawa is the poorest area in japan. jobless rate in 2009 was around 8 % (average in Japan was 5 %).
'cause many US army families live in there, it might be difficult to become a English language teacher there. (I'm not sure.)
