My son and I are visiting the two families that he stayed with when he visited Japan in high school and college, one in Nagoya and the other in Kyoto. What are good ideas to bring for omiyage from USA in September? I thought candy would be good but is there something else ? Thanks.

Something from your hometown or state.(Maple syrup from Vermont or Kona coffee from Hawaii for example) would make great gifts.
