With so many large department stores near the station-are the retail price of items in the stores lower than other areas in Japan? I'll be looking for kimono assessories and in the past looked for them in Kure's 2 largest department stores but everything was so expensive. Is one department store better piced than the other in the Shinjuku area? TIA

Shinjuku is a great place to shop for your midern items like cosmetics, skincare, blue label.. but if you are looking for kimono and their accessories, i personally feel that Nakamise at Asakusa would be better.
