Working in Chofu

I am starting a job at the end of the year in Chofu. Where would be a good place to live so that I will be close to the action but can easily commute to work? I won't have any children with me so education is not a factor, but I am looking for a nice area with a decent apartment

I would recommend Hatsudai or Hatagaya.

I don't know your budget but these two neighborhoods offer pretty much everything you can want.
The Keio line connects to pretty much everything, it's a straight shot to your job on the Keio line, you're walking distance from Shinjuku station (25-40 minutes), there's lots of restaurants, supermarkets, fast food, video shops (Tsutaya), etc.

If you're out at night in Shinjuku, the cab ride is less than 1500 yen.
