How to ask the price? 2010/11/6 05:46
I know how to ask the price of an individual item (kono *item* wa ikura desu ka). But how do you ask for the total price of a bunch of different items?

You are so polite to say "kono *item* wa ikura desu ka"
Just say, "kore ikura?"
For the total price, say "kore zenbu(all) de
or gokei(total) de ikura (desuka)?"

Oh, if you were a female, add "o" in front of ikura.

well you could improvise and ask like ''sono subete ga ikura desu ka?'', although i found that ''Gokei'' is the word for ''total'' but there are still many ways to say it.

Zenbu de ikura(desuka) is best--sounds more natural to a native ear than any of the above.

Thanks for the responses. I used the polite form because that was what I've been taught so far. :)
