New or Secondhand? 2010/12/8 17:19
Do you want new or secondhand?

What camera are you using it on? Do you want a high-end prime like the 85/1.2L II or do you want a cheap prime like the 50/1.8? Or do you want a zoom?

Two good options (for either new or secondhand) are Map Camera in Shinjuku or Fujiya Camera in Nakano. You can search on Japan-guide for instructions on how to get to either of them I'm sure, or failing that, google. Fujiya is a very short walk from the North Exit of Nakano station which is only one stop west of Shinjuku on the Chuo express line.

Hope this helps, feel free to post again if you have further questions.

Which country are you coming from? It may be cheaper to buy in your home country.

Sigma, Tamron, etc... 2010/12/8 21:03
Did you consider a Sigma, Tamron or Tokina, etc alternative? These are manufactured in versions with Canon, Nikon, or Pentax mounts and are very good and considerably cheaper; see test results for example here: http://www.photozone.de/canon-eos
