Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza

Hi

I will be going to Tokyo end of January and wonder if I should travel to Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza to shop. I have been to Gotemba and wonder if Karuizawa is like Gotemba.

Have anyone been there? Are there any good deals?

It is not the same. But similar. I am not informed about deals, though. But any good deals would likely be canceled off by the shinkansen ticket. Unless you have a rail pass anyway.

I've been to both of them a few times each, and was just at Karuizawa the other day. They recently made a big expansion there with about a dozen new stores.

The deals are pretty much the same at either outlet (which may or may not be good depending on where you're coming from), and they tend to have similar stores. The only stand outs that I can think of at the moment are that Karuizawa has a Bape outlet as well as Burberry Black Label and Burberry Blue Label outlets, while Gotemba has a Nikon Store. Check out their respective websites to get their shop lists. One other advantage of Karuizawa is that it is right next to a ski resort in case you want to combine shopping with a snow experience.
