Gakuran jacket size 2011/1/18 04:20
I live in the US and I am ordering a friend to look for a used Gakuran jacket for me, especially around end of school year.
I wear size 40 S suit jacket in the US.
How does that translate to Japanese gakuran jacket size? I am an average size, 167 cm tall, 70 kilogram. "40 S" , the 'S' is for a little bit shorter cut, but I think in Japan that's ok.

gesto,

I'm not sure how easy it is nowadays to find genuine gakuran (and not the cos-play ones) as tume-eri type school uniforms itself are very rare. But it would be best if you measure your chest length, shoulder length and arm length and translate them to centimeters, as school uniforms are all tailor-made.

Just as an example, here is a size indication I happened to pick up from the internet, but it doesn't always go this way.
