Why is JPY so high? 2011/3/18 03:28
Can someone explain, why has JPY risen to record heighs following the disaster?

What I've read on that just doesn't make sense (rose as gov't intervention to lower it is expected - ??).

This will likely hurt Japan tourism as much as, if not more, than the disaster. More may cancel their plans realizing how much more expensive it would be to be in Japan now with the record high JPY than because of the disaster (esp. now with virtually all airlines giving penalty-free flight refunds for trips to Japan extending up into April).
