Hi Dale,
if nobody else answers your question, I'll do my best.
During my last stay in Japan, I found different version of this stuff in normal supermarkets (actually, they are somehow cool, but taste horrible ;-) ). This was in Fukuoka, but I'm sure you'll encounter them in bigger supermarkets in Kyoto and Tokyo as well.

Thank you Kai! I'll be able to get to a supermarket or two. I usually buy other omiyage there anyway.
I wouldn't think they taste all that good! But, we all know that the taste isn't the main draw here.
