Hey !
I'm new to Kyoto, and I would like to know if there is any good places where I can see a concert around here. I'm especially interested in japanese rock, heavy metal and hip hop. Thanks !

Hi, youLll have a hard time getting to gigs in Kyoto as its night activity regarding gigs is not very busy. Your best bet is to go to gigs in Osaka, which is a short train trip away. Almost every artist touring Japan (big or small, national or international) stop in Osaka, and you shouldnLt have any trouble catching the last train as gigs tend to finish early enough to allow that.

There's lots of live music venuesin Kyoto too. If it's Japanese bands you are after you won't have trouble finding music in Kyoto. If you want international artists tho... you will need to go to Osaka. I live in Kyoto and love Rock/Punk/Metal so I often go to see Japanese indies bands. Some places to see live music in Kyoto are: Kyoto Muse - http://www.arm-live.com/muse/kyoto/, Whoopees - http://www.whoopees.net/, Mojo - http://www.kyoto-mojo.com/.
