Money envolopes? 2011/8/6 19:23
So my Japanese friend bought us some concert tickets, and I need to pay her back, so what kind of envolope should I use and where can I get one? Thank you in advance!!!

Are you meeting her in person and paying her back? Then you can just pull out cash from your wallet and pay her... it's not like you are presenting her with some congratulatory gift of money or anything like that. OR you can put the exact amount into just a regular envelope and hand it to her.

genkin kakitome 2011/8/8 11:38
If you are sending a large amount of money, or if you are concerned about security there's a special registered envelope for sending cash through the mail. Its called a genkin kakitome futo, and can be purchased at the post office for 20 yen. Postage fees cost an additional 420 yen.
